Title Governance Program Specialist

Description The Governance Program Specialist reports to the Director of Leadership Services; works with limited supervision; and is privy to confidential matters including personnel issues, internal labor relations, financial reports, proprietary information, strategic relationships, and legal matters discussed by the ANA Board of Directors and the ANA Board of Directors Executive Committee. The incumbent is responsible for executing assigned projects; representing Leadership Services on inter-departmental and enterprise-wide work teams; and providing project- and administrative-level support to Leadership Services staff in their work with ANA’s volunteer bodies, governance-related committees and boards, and departmental, inter-departmental and enterprise-wide staff teams.

•Coordinate assigned projects in partnership with the Director and Leadership Services staff.
•Support the staff liaisons to the Committee on Honorary Awards and the Reference Committee.
•Represent Leadership Services on enterprise-wide collaborative work teams, as assigned.
•Assist the Governance Specialist and IT Liaison in technology- and data-focused projects.
•Collaborate with the Membership and Constituent Relations Program Specialist to ensure accurate and appropriate leadership and governance content on C/SNA Essentials.
•Provide logistical support for the meetings of ANA’s Board of Directors, Membership Assembly, Leadership Council, and governance-related committees.
•Facilitate the review and revision cycle for all leadership and governance resources.
•Ensure adherence to ANA’s document management and record retention processes.
•Provide administrative support to the Leadership Services Team, including but not limited to: triaging the Leadership Services proxy email box; reviewing agreements and contracts; processing reimbursement requests and monthly expense reports; and monitoring, tracking and ordering supplies.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Related Work Experience
A minimum of five (5) years progressive project administration experience preferably in an association or non-profit governance environment that includes frequent and regular interaction with senior-level and management staff, and volunteers, both elected and appointed.

1.Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced and fluid environment, while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and adhering to established timelines.
2.Intermediate technology skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, association management systems).
3.Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
4.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of associations.
5.Ability to interact and communicate effectively with volunteer leaders, senior-level and management staff, and external individuals (e.g., vendors).
6.Demonstrates a clear understanding of the need to comply with bylaws, operating policies, and procedures.
7.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
