Under the supervision of the Controller, the Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of monthly financial schedules, maintain records and perform general bookkeeping. The successful candidate will accumulate pertinent information and documents for the year end audits, as well as prepare special ad-hoc reporting projects.

• Reconciliation and analysis of various general ledger accounts
• Preparation of journal entries
• Assist in reviewing check requests and ensuring accuracy and compliance with ANA policy
• Participation in annual financial statement audit to include schedule preparation and analysis and accumulation of requested supporting documents
• Performs other duties as assigned

• BS in Finance or Accounting required.
• CPA preferred.

Relevant Work Experience and Skills
• 4 or more years related professional experience. Would consider less experience but qualified CPA candidate who possesses a 4-year accounting degree.
• Reliable and a proven ability to prioritize tasks according to deadlines and deliver work on schedule with minimal supervision.
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with Great Plains desired.
• Working knowledge of Federal and private foundation grants and contracts experience desirable.
• Understanding of financial management systems (including Adaptive Insights) in a multi-entity environment, preferred.
• Knowledgeable of generally accepted accounting principles and can explain these concepts to non-financial internal customers.
• Detail-oriented and have an ability to carry out work with highest levels of accuracy and efficiency.
• Flexibility in dealing with changing priorities and demanding workload.
• Work well under pressure and possesses effective problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Professional and pleasant demeanor.
• Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
