The Senior System Administrator is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Association’s enterprise technology hosting infrastructure. Provides 2nd and 3rd tier level user support and problem resolution for any IT service issues related to operating systems, web and database servers, virtual machines and infrastructure components. Skilled in managing Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, SSL and authentication technologies, as well as an in-depth knowledge of IP networking, VPN’s, DNS, SSL, load balancing and firewall technologies.

Planning and Implementation:
• Develops and maintains the organization’s technology hosted infrastructure to include operation and maintenance of hardware, software, network and enterprise applications.
• Builds and maintains web, virtual, client-server environments, DNS, SSL and network for the organization
• Defines and implement the optimal organizational structure for the enterprise
• Implements and maintains a system business impact assessment to prioritize system recovery in the event of a failure

Maintenance and Support:
• Maintains the operations of all systems and enterprise applications to ensure high availability
• Troubleshoots and resolves any IT service issue related to operating systems and servers
• Performs routine audits, manages monitoring and backups on systems, networks, software and online applications
• Develops document for best practices as it relates to server infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud computing operational experience
• Trains the technical support staff on solving common systems-related problems

Vendor Management:
• Works with third-party vendors and consultants on developing system-specific skills
• Partners with the infrastructure team to troubleshoot and resolve network related issues

BS in Computer Science or equivalent

• 5+ years’ experience in developing, implementing, and supporting hosted infrastructures (Amazon, Azure, etc.,)
• 5+ years’ experience with managing Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, SSL and authentication technologies
• 5+ years’ experience in IT vendor management with SOWs, SLAs, and Work Order tracking
• In depth knowledge of IP networking, VPN’s, DNS , SSL, load balancing and firewall technologies
• Project Management skills for small to medium initiatives, related to infrastructure upgrades and migrations

• Skilled in scripting and light programming
• Attention to detail and strong logical and analytical thinker
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Can anticipate risks and mitigate in the moment
• Comfortable under high-stress and exhibits poise and focus

Preferred Education, Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years’ experience in Windows server administration with MCSE desired
• Intermediate knowledge of system and network security best practices including governance with CCNA desired
• Intermediate knowledge of virtualization technologies and operating
