Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will work collaboratively with staff to help achieve established financial organizational goals. Analyzes operational performance and financial performance at the macro and micro levels and helps develop plans to anticipate and address deviations or shortfalls for the Enterprise, ANA, ANCC, and ANF.

• Works closely with staff in assessing reporting needs, conceive of and develop reports, and conduct financial and business analysis.
• Responsible for assisting in the development of financial forecasts and working closely with department managers to guide them with their budgets and revenue projections.
• Uses budgeting software, Adaptive Insights, to develop budget models, financial templates, and complex reports for various stakeholders.
• Ensures reports that are developed within the financial and reporting system reconcile with the accounting system (Great Plains) of record. Performs budget variance analysis of monthly internal financial statements, summarizing findings in a formal written report, inclusive of charts and dashboards.
• Develops reports and analyses regarding impact of collective bargaining proposals both in the areas of compensation and fringe benefits.
• Works closely with and assists the Vice President, Finance with developing the annual operating budget, budget forecasts, capital budgets, including multiple budget scenarios.
• Maintains user security, account hierarchies, project codes and cost centers in accordance with association policy.
• Advises CFO, VP of Finance, and VP of Human Resources in connection with the impact of staffing models within the bargaining unit.
• Training, coordinating, and/or reviewing the work of department system users and direct reports.
• Track key performance indicators developed by the VP of Finance. Recommend cost containment strategies and efficiencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Finance.

• BS in Finance, Accounting or Economics required.
• MBA, MA preferred.

Relevant Work Experience:
• Five to seven years related experience. Preferably in a comparably sized non-profit.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks according to deadlines and deliver work on schedule with minimal supervision.
• MS Excel Super-User required and demonstrated experience using Adaptive Insights or similar budgeting software required.
• Working knowledge of Federal and private foundation grants and contracts experience desirable.

• Understanding of financial management systems (including Microsoft Dynamics GP / Great Plains and Adaptive Insights) in a multi-entity environment and strong expertise in the Microsoft suite of software.
• Knowledgeable of generally accepted accounting principles and can explain these concepts to non-financial internal customers.
• Extremely detail-oriented and have an ability to carry out work with highest levels of accuracy and efficiency.
• Planning skills, decision making skills, listening skills, problem solving skills, accountability and responsibility for core functions are critical.
• Thorough understanding of principles and techniques of budget and forecast preparations, administration, technical writing and related record keeping.
• Ability to work independently without close supervision.
• Flexibility in dealing with changing priorities and demanding workload.
• Work well under pressure and possesses effective problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Professional and pleasant demeanor.
• Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
