Description Responsible for providing technical oversight to the design, engineering, and integration of all NIAID/NIH conference rooms, collaborative workspaces, and other AV enabled spaces as well as any other designated area utilizing AV assets. These assets include: video cameras, microphones, projectors and flat-panel displays, touch screens, Smart boards, speakers, amplifiers, PC’s, Polycom Video Teleconferencing equipment and other VTC associated equipment, DA’s, DM’s, switchers, scalars, and DSP’s.
Responsible for leading and overseeing the complete AV room integration lifecycle of both AV integration projects currently underway at various stages as well as new projects as they are received. Prepares AV integration designs including CAD drawings, SOW, and BOM’s to include in procurement packages ready for the vendor bid/selection process. Once vendor has been chosen, this candidate will also oversee the work performed by the vendor for quality assurance as well as act as a single POC for status reporting to management. Must be familiar with the installation of hardware and software related to conference room audiovisual and video teleconferencing equipment. Utilizes knowledge of system characteristics and industry best practices/guidelines (AVIXA etc…) to provide advice on audiovisual requirements for various projects. Tests AV functionality and operations at various phases of the integration projects to ensure quality and ensure installation vendors are meeting contract deliverables.
Serve primarily as an integral part of the design, engineering, and implementation of new AV infrastructure as a part of planned AV capabilities upgrade project. Provide post installation and commissioning support from a design and engineering level to propose any needed changes to existing designs as the customers needs and use patterns change. Provides senior support in handling routine questions about installation, operation and usage of all types of audio/visual systems. Responds professionally to all questions, from both customers and co-workers. Applies advanced diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes and recommend/implement solutions to correct common failures
Ideal candidate should be self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented, and possess excellent and detailed technical writing ability (SOW’s, BOM’s etc…) as demonstrated on their resume. Candidate should have the ability to:
• Meet with customers to gather the requirements
• Draft an initial design to meet the requirements (including CAD drawings etc…)
• Develop a BOM for the requirements
• Write an SOW for use in vendor solicitation process
• Review and revise vendor proposal submissions (including CAD drawings)
• Oversee vendor installation and configuration of new room and equipment
Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CTS-D and/or CTS-I certifications highly desired
Crestron Certs highly desired
Bachelor degree preferred but will accept 6+ years of experience for consideration without a degree
Expert experience with Crestron equipment including: Touchpanels, switchers, DM’s, DA’s and processors
Expert experience with Vaddio or similar equipment
Expert experience with DSP’s and mixers
Expert experience with BIAMP equipment and solutions
Experience working with fabrication vendors for custom rack or AV storage fabrication
