Oaks Integrated Care is currently seeking a Peer Support Specialist to work within our Crisis Screening program. Crisis Screening and stabilization services are provided 24/7, 365 days per year. Team members work to safely resolve behavioral health crisis through intervention, assessment and stabilization.

The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment and maintain quality and evidence-based care of adults & children in mental health distress, including but not limited to being a dangerousness to themselves and/or other.

Responsibilities:

  • Support to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric distress
  • Assist individual in identifying consumer supports and exploring social and recreational activities
  • Increase individual’s self-determination and self-respect
  • Participates in Team Meetings and supervision
  • Promotes consumer-driven services and recovery-orientated environment; assists individual and their family in making decisions, taking action and treatment planning. Provides education and information to the individual and their family
  • Performs other related duties as necessary

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent  and 1 year of experience in providing peer support required
  • Certification in peer support preferred
  • Knowledge of recovery-based concepts and interventions
  • Valid driver’s license
