As a Substitute Residential Assistant, you will work in an adult group home setting in Pennington, Mercer County, NJ. The group home provides a supervised residence for three developmentally disabled adult males. Support services help residents gain independence and become contributing participants in their community.

 

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, guide and direct consumers within the home

• Record significant shift happenings/observations in daily log

• Monitor each consumer and attend to consumers’ needs throughout the shift

• Distribute and document of all medications scheduled during the shift

• Provide training/direction, supervision and assistance with daily routine, i.e. hygiene, grooming, dressing, meal preparation,  laundry and household chores

• Understand and participate in developing implementing the individual treatment plan for each consumer

• Participate in bi-weekly staff meetings and other meetings directed by the Program Supervisor

• Participate in on-going training to learn various behavior management methods and techniques

• Must work 2 or more Holidays per year

• Must work 16 hours of weekend per month

• Must attend 8 staff meetings per year

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Be at least 18 years of age

• Possess high school diploma or equivalent

• Must have vaid driver's license with less than 6 points

• Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred
