MANAGER OF MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

General Statement of Duties
Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the Manager of Marketing and Communications is responsible for implementing the organization’s marketing strategy, and managing and executing all aspects of the marketing and communications program. This position is an integral team member of the Marketing and Development Departments.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create and execute annual communications plan to carry out the marketing strategy
• Create and distribute materials, internal and external, for organization-wide marketing and for all programs, content specific (written and otherwise)
• Serve as webmaster of Focus: HOPE website (skills in WordPress are necessary)
• Manage methods of reporting the effectiveness of marketing outreach
• Manage content for campus-wide video displays
• Compose speeches and letters for the CEO in conjunction with the Director of Marketing
• Organize reports, dashboards and PowerPoints for senior leadership presentations and board meetings in conjunction with the Director of Marketing
• Collect and manage key metrics and statistics organization-wide and program specific
• Work with Development Staff to create content for fundraising appeals and organizational newsletters, developing and implementing a communication plan for each
• Develop social media strategy and manage all social media platforms
• Represent Focus: HOPE at public functions, as needed
• Manage communication of brand standards and guide for the organization
• Manage the creation and distribution of the organization’s annual report
• Maintain relationships with external marketing and communications contractors
• Identify the key relationships to leverage resources and communicate the marketing strategy
• Create and distribute press releases and serve as primary point of contact for media
• Serve as a productive team member of both the Marketing and Development Departments
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Supervise AmeriCorps VISTA

Skills and Abilities:
• Strong commitment to civil and human rights
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work and communicate in a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, Adobe, WordPress, and Raisers Edge or Donor Perfect
• Proficient in social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
• Ability to identify marketing and communication opportunities
• Strong relationships with local media desired (television, print and radio)
• Ability to prioritize work across multiple departments
• Strategic and innovative thinking
• Experience in event photography
• Strong participant interviewing skills
• Experience in video production
• Ability to work as a team member
• Highly organized, able to work and supervise under pressure from deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours
Requirements Education, Training and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a related work setting.
