Title Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

Description The Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator engages in activities to identify, recruit and maintain volunteers in support of Focus:HOPE and partnering organization programming and activities. The Engagement Coordinator works closely with the Manager to establish effective mean to increase volunteer and donor engagement. The Coordinator assists in the design, implementation, and maintenance of volunteer tracking systems. The Coordinator routinely conducts campus tours and supervises volunteer projects and activities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Recruit, interview,train develop and supervise volunteers
2.Coordinate and conduct tours in an engaging, responsible, and safe manner.
3. Present about the organization to educate, recruit and increase awareness of the Volunteer Engagement Program.
4.Perform selected duties of Volunteer & Community Outreach Manager in their absence.
5. Manage and supervise special volunteer programs that may include university internships, AmeriCorps Vista, Urban League Mature Workers or other specialized programs that could partner with Focus:HOPE.
6.Use of new technologies, creative marketing and communications forums to attract new volunteers.
7.Participate in community fairs, workshops, conferences,etc.
8.Play an active role in annual events(i.e. March or Hope,Heroes for Hope, Volunteer Recognition;Senior Holiday Delivery)
9. Write correspondence, maintain volunteer databases, and prepare reports.
10.Organize mailings-identify and implement lists appropriately.
11. Perform related duties as assigned by Manager,e.g.,draft of press releases, attendance at hearing, perform liaison with partnering organizations,etc.

4.Sense of humor and overall enjoyment is a must
5.Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
6.Ability to multi task.
7.Proficient computer skills, including Office 365; and other Microsoft Office products.
8.Applicable knowledge publishing and project software and familiarity with Volunteer Management Systems/software (i.e CERVIS,Galaxy Digital, Raiser's Edge) preferred.
9. Ability to plan, organize, document and manage task with little supervision.
10.Valid driver's license required and ability to drive Focus:HOPE vehicles.
11. Occasionally, requires extended hours (weekends,evening events,etc)
12.Must be able to lift at lease 25 pounds.
13.Have a positive team player mentality and work as both a team and independently.
Education, Training and Experience:
1. Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts, e.g., communications,journalism, political science or similar field.
2. At least one (1) ear of directly related work experience in nonprofit,volunteer,political,campaign,development or public administration.
Additional Comments Supervision Received:
Perform duties under supervision of the Manager of the Volunteer and Community
Outreach Department.
