JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for supervising a minimum of 10+ MFIP staff in addition to coordinating and providing employment services for Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) participants in north and south Minneapolis.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform comprehensive services for persons reentering the labor market to include: assessments, educational and career coaching and laddering, connection to internal and external supportive services, traditional & non-traditional job placement, facilitation of intake, workplace interventions, and general case management duties (advocacy, referrals, documentation/reporting of all activities and client outcomes in case files and database systems)
  • Effectively utilize external and internal databases (Workforce One, ECF, MEC2, ClientTrack, MAXIS) and meet 100% of state and county requirements.
  • Interview, hire, and terminate in consultation with program Director. Directly supervise MFIP staff, program volunteers and interns.
  • Ensure staff have a clear understanding of program goals and that delivery of services adheres to those goals.
  • Train all program staff in all areas of program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Manage and adhere to program budgets, follow through with signing authority procedures, and distribute support services.
  • Perform and coordinate special projects within MFIP.
  • Provide performance evaluation and management for staff, including goal setting and professional development.
  • Assist in coordinating the implementation of new programming, including funding, staffing, and reporting.
  • Develop new partnerships and collaborations with other community organizations to enhance the services provided.
Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Related experience and/or education equivalent to five years (Associates Degree or higher preferred but not required) Five years of supervisory experience in social/human services preferred.
  • Five years of work experience in employment & training, human services, and/or MFIP preferred.
  • GCDF certification preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to travel between multiple agency locations.
  • Valid MN Drivers’ License, access to reliable, insured transportation, and the ability to meet agency’s driving requirements including proof of insurance.
