JOB SUMMARY:

The primary objective of this position is to perform program management, supervision, case management, coordination, & leadership for Emerge’s Financial Wellness Services program. This position is responsible for supervising/ managing the work of program staff, adjunct staff, interns and volunteers; providing financial coaching and case management services to a caseload of program participants residing throughout the metropolitan area; conducting project reporting/evaluation and other administrative tasks.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide effective program supervision, leadership and direction for direct and adjunct staff, interns and volunteers.
  • Supervise integrated services and work directly with participants to achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Ensure program service delivery and directly provide the following services to a caseload of participants: recruitment/intake; financial/plan assessment; financial coaching; resolving current financial situations while providing a wide lens on their financial health to shift the approach to proactive financial management; provide/develop strategies for budgeting, credit building and repair, and increasing net worth; training and coordination with partners; and retention/advancement services.
  • Develop programs and manage related communications
  • Positively represent the program/organization and maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders (participants, staff, community members/organizations, partners, and funders).
  • Supervise program/contract budgets and expenditures
  • Monitor, oversee, plan, and implement program budgets- monitor monthly income and expense statements to ensure accuracy and efficient use and management of resources.
  • Oversee reporting and evaluation activities
Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Human Services, or other similar field.
  • Two-years of relevant work experience in providing financial counseling, coaching, or advising.
  • Flexible work schedule; full-time (some occasional evenings/weekends during tax season)
  • Valid Minnesota Driver’s License and the ability to meet agency-driving requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of financial literacy and education services.
  • Experienced facilitator and knowledge of counseling methodologies.
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems; develop and carry out effective courses of actions.
  • Ability to use a computer, navigate multiple internal and external databases, and keep accurate and complete records.
  • Ability to communicate with and interact respectfully with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to work respectfully and communicate effectively with different cultures, groups, and languages.
  • Skilled/experienced in managing a participant caseload, providing holistic case management services, and keeping detailed and accurate records with respect to data privacy/ confidentiality.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate individual and group meetings, workshops, orientations, and trainings with staff and participants; skilled in conducting assessments and interviews.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships/collaborations with internal & external customers to include: agency participants, staff, area businesses, government and foundation liaisons, and local organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and manage invoicing and program/contract budgets.
  • Access to reliable transportation and the ability to meet agency’s driving requirements (includes transporting participants).
