Description

This role is responsible for leading the implementation phase for new client set-up and existing client renewals for institutions, organizations, strategic partners and others to deliver a 21st century customer experience and use of Clearinghouse products and services across the K12 and higher education continuum. This includes planning and coordinating both client and cross-functional teams to support all aspects of setup and design.

The incumbent will mitigate client/member risks and internal risks through comprehensive understanding of all downstream impacts of project components, and partner with cross functional teams to facilitate operational procedures and implementation processes for new products. The Specialist will collaborate with other members of the Education Services division to build strong long-term relationships with both K12 and higher education institutional clients that will allow us to continue to maintain our position as the trusted partner to our education community stakeholders.

How You Contribute:

  • Drive customer implementations to successful launch by managing scope, training, timeline and the client relationship.
  • Plan, manage, and communicate the progress of the implementation, both internally and externally.
  • Lead and run alignment workshops to map client’s requirements/data to Clearinghouse product/service solutions.
  • Manage cross-functional processes and teams to ensure alignment between product/service launches and overall goals.
  • Perform or guide team members through configuration activities to setup the software based on client requirements.
  • Represent implementation team throughout the sales process and prospect presentations.
  • Ensure client’s smooth progression and transition across entire implementation lifecycle.
  • Create project plan and ensure tasks are completed within designated timeframe/deadlines.
  • Manages client touchpoint frequency, training, testing and resource provisioning to ensure a complete and comprehensive onboarding experience.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and define mitigation plans to keep implementation projects on-track and prevent post-go-live issues.
  • Provide or prescribe service enhancing recommendations to ensure positive  client  experience.
  • Ability to comprehend and diagram process flows and identify opportunities to streamline and improve efficiency.
  • Document internal and client-specific policies and procedures.
  • Participate in cross-functional task forces and special projects as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, business, or related field, or a combination of experience and education, including through military service, will be considered. 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in implementation, project or client management roles, preferably in the education industry, software or other high-tech industry. 
  • Demonstrated experience implementing technology or automation services, preferably related to student information (SIS) or learning management systems (LMS). 
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • Successfully perform in a leadership role, effectively work and problem solve on a team and across organizational boundaries.
  • Drive customer renewals and customer success.
  • Manage multiple projects, timelines and meet project deadlines.
  • Work well under pressure and maintain professionalism even in demanding circumstances.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Competent computer skills to perform essential functions, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Live within a commutable distance of Herndon, VA.

Desired:

  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Experience working with Ellucian’s SIS Banner or Colleague products.
  • Knowledge of Clearinghouse services and applications.
  • Experience working in secondary or higher education.

Physical Demands:

  • Use of a computer terminal and/or laptop computer for 8 or more hours a day.
  • Use of a copy machine, fax machine, and telephone.
  • Must have oral communication and hearing abilities.
  • Frequently required to sit for 7 or more hours per day in close proximity to others in an open office environment.
  • Occasionally required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and reach.
  • Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be flexible to do out-of-town assignments and, travel via car and airplane as necessary, approximately 10% in a given year.
