Royal Neighbors of America is searching for a Member Sales Representative to provide professional and quality customer service to members handling inbound calls and occasionally outbound calls for soliciting new business.  Your experience using your sales call center and customer support skills will contribute to a successful and rewarding career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Act primarily as an inbound call handling agent responding to prospective customers seeking to buy insurance products over the phone.
  • Make outbound phone calls to members for the purpose of building relationships and offering appropriate products for purchase by being alert to member needs through assessments.
  • Explain features/benefits of products and provide information about Royal Neighbors.
  • Track activities including call logs and activities, follow ups, and applications.
  • Meet productivity goals including mailed applications, completed applications, and product sales.
  • Provide feedback to management to assist in identifying sales trends and member needs.
  • Assist in quality control activities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience                                                                                                                                    

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience, preferably in phone sales and/or service, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Entry and Basic Life Office Management Association (LOMA) course levels will be required upon acceptance of position.

Certificates, Licenses, Designations, Registrations:

LOMA Level 1 certificate required.  Life and Health license required. Associate in Customer Service (ACS) and Associate, Life Management Institute (ALMI) designations preferred. 

Core Competencies:

Technical Competencies:

Inbound call center experience, outbound call center experience, cold calling, customer relationship management, data entry, telephonic sales.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as premiums, interest, proportions, percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic math.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of LifePro, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, contact management software (SalesForce), imaging software and the Internet.

Industry Competencies:

Life insurance product knowledge (whole life, term, universal life, and annuities), Life insurance sales.

Language Skills:                                                                                                                                                                                                 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, product specifications and training material, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively over the phone including conversation control.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
