Summary of Role:
Royal Neighbors of America is searching for a Business Analyst. This position is primarily responsible for gathering and documenting business and end-user requirements on projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Consults with business users to determine and validate project requirements, including functionality, features and interfaces.
•Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
•Writes and maintains business requirement documentation to describe business and end-user requirements.
•Works with end user to determine and document new business work flow.
•Validates that all business requirements are being met by the proposed technical solution.
•Serves as liaison between the project team and the end user.
•Trains end users or technical support staff to use programs. Available outside regular working hours to assist in resolving production or implementation problems.
•Responsible for identifying improvements to the process of gathering and documenting business requirements, including evaluating and implementing technology solutions. Expands PMO use of known best practices to meet evolving Society needs.
•Collaborates closely with manager and peers for overall Portfolio and Program success.
•Establishes and sustains positive vendor work relationships.
•Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor degree or equivalent from four-year College; or seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in requirements definition and project management tools.

Entry, Basic, and Mid-level Life Office Management Association (LOMA) courses will be required upon acceptance of position.

Certificates, Licenses, Designations, Registrations:
LOMA Level 1 certificate and Associate, Customer Service (ACS) required. Associate, Life Management Institute (ALMI) and Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) preferred.

Core Competencies:

Technical Competencies:
Process mapping, modeling, requirements management, change management, stakeholder identification.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and systems design required. Conceptual knowledge of systems analysis, ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, SQL Reporting Services, Cognos, and MS SQL preferred.

Industry Competencies:
General insurance industry knowledge.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
