Description Union Institute & University, a national not for profit university offering Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees to adult students, is seeking an Assistant Registrar based in Cincinnati, OH.

The Assistant Registrar position is responsible for managing the Registrar’s Office transfer entry work flow process, as well as being the lead data entry position of official transfer credit evaluation, and posting of transfer credit and advance placement credits to the academic record. This position is responsible for continuous accuracy checking of the advising/degree audit, the advising worksheet and graduation audit worksheet, including the assignment and review of academic requirement codes, transfer credit equivalency tables, and building the EX transfer catalog. The position reviews, adjusts (as needed) and approves each undergraduate student’s degree audit submitted by the program advisor. The Assistant Registrar works closely with program advisors and program chairs to determine the acceptability and applicability of course credits as applied to the degree audit, as well as the use and interpretation of the degree audit. The position will work with each center’s enrollment staff in the review for accuracy of their preliminary assessments. This position works closely with the Associate Registrar and Registrar in the review of official transcripts related to the acceptability of transfer credit, advance placement credit and their equivalency to UI&U sponsored courses in alignment with degree requirements.

This position is a non-exempt, full-time, 40 hours per week.
Monday-Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.


Requirements Required Candidate Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree Required (master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum two years’ experience in a Registrar’s Office or related student service area in higher education.
• Effective interpersonal (written, oral and online) communication skills;
• Excellent computer and organizational skills and consistent accuracy and attention to detail;
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
