POSITION SUMMARY: This position functions in a supportive role to the HR Director within a fast paced, high demand environment and takes on a leadership role when dealing with internal stakeholders. The incumbent performs activities in the human resource area within all functions of the employee lifecycle to include recruitment, selection, retention, benefits and compensation administration, training, health and wellness, liability with respect to workers compensation, employee relations, and light payroll in the area of timekeeping.

Essential Functions:

Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software, Ultipro using a high degree of accuracy. Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations. Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork. Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities. Keeps HR Director apprised of employee relations issues, such as matters related to timekeeping, corrective action standards, work complaints, or other employee concerns. Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws. Schedule or conduct new employee orientations. Maintain records and assist the HR Director with updates to human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms. Confers with HR Director to develop or implement personnel policies or procedures and coordinates dissemination of such policies. Select qualified job applicants or refer them to managers, making hiring recommendations when appropriate. Conduct reference or background checks on job applicants. Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed. Posts job opportunities using sources such as HR databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, media advertisements, job fairs, recruiting firms, or employee referrals. Provide management with information or training related to interviewing, performance appraisals, counseling techniques, or documentation of performance issues. Interview job applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, or job skills. Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports. Schedule or administer skill, intelligence, or drug tests for current or prospective employees. Evaluate recruitment or selection criteria to ensure conformance to professional, statistical, or testing standards, recommending revisions, as needed. Assists with open enrollment and maintains accurate data on employee benefits elections and census data. Conducts and coordinates benefits enrollment. Uses creativity to spearhead health and wellness efforts. POSITION

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Human Resources, Legal Studies, Business Administration or related field. Master's Degree: Preferred

Experience: Two to Five years of experience in Human Resources Computer Skills: High level of competency working with Microsoft Office Suite. Previous Ultipro experience is a plus but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is demanding and fast paced.
